Embercrown Saga
Embercrown Saga is the kind of RPG that respects your time without watering itself down. You build a party of four, each with distinct skills, and the turn-based combat leaves real room for planning positions and cooldowns. Early fights are gentle, but by the third region I was pausing to rethink my whole lineup.
The writing carried me further than I expected. Companions comment on your choices, and a couple of branching moments genuinely changed how later chapters played out. It's not Baldur's Gate on a phone, but for a mobile title the dialogue has weight.
Touch controls work better than most RPGs manage: skills sit on a clean radial menu and dragging targets feels precise. My only gripe is a grindy stretch around the midpoint, which a couple of side quests smooth over if you're patient.
